What is a Canter Safari?

A Canter is a 16-seater open safari vehicle designed especially for jungle safaris. The vehicle is elevated and spacious, allowing visitors to enjoy better views of the forest and wildlife.

The Dhikala Canter Safari is conducted under the supervision of the forest department and includes trained drivers and experienced forest guides. The safari usually begins from Ramnagar and takes visitors deep into the Dhikala zone for a half-day exploration of the jungle.

During the safari, visitors travel through dense forests, vast grasslands, riverbeds, and scenic landscapes while searching for wildlife.

Booking Information

Advance booking is strongly recommended because the number of seats in each Canter is limited and the safari is in high demand, especially during the peak season from November to June.

Visitors must carry a valid government photo ID at the time of entry and follow all forest department rules during the safari.
